Born in Hillingdon in the United Kingdom, 1971,
Currently working as a freelance software analyst/developer — now back in London, after
nine months in Cologne. Before that I worked for a couple of years in London,
and spent a couple in Budapest,
where I married Paula,
who took all the images on this site: she holds the copyright and reserves all rights on the images.
Mouse-over the pie for stuff
I hold a 2:1 Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in English, and
a Master of Science degree in Intelligent
Systems, both from the University
of Sussex in Brighton, UK.
Please choose a slice of violet pie for a reasonably recent résumé in various formats.
My preferred language and lingua-franca is Perl, though I have
also written in Java, C, PROLOG, Pop-11, BASIC and a few others. I find
'computer languages' quite easy to pick up.
Some of my Perl is free on CPAN,
the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network;
other stuff might be foudn by clicking the pie.
After two degrees, it seemed a shame to check all those essays.
The wonders of the internet allow them to lay around here, awaiting
the laughter of my children. Sadder still are the number of people
who have looked at them: still, maybe one of them will offer me a
research doctorate with decent funding...
It's amazing the number of people who use badly-written agents
to rip e-mail addresses from websites. So, please use the power
of the amazing human brain to decode the ciphers.
Nothing to say that I want the world to hear, here.
